Invitation to the STEAM4LIFE event in Berlin

Invitation to the STEAM4LIFE event in Berlin: 13.11.2024

The STEAM4LIFE project promotes women in the fields of science, technology, informatics, art and mathematics (STEAM) in order to offer them better opportunities in the labor market. Women are still underrepresented in these fields, although there is no difference in their skills compared to men.

The project aims to strengthen women's self-confidence and enable them to pursue a career in STEAM through practice-oriented activities and gender equality approaches. It develops innovative learning materials, mentoring programs and open educational resources to encourage women's participation. It is also creating a support package for higher education teachers and managers to improve professional practice in engaging women in STEAM.

The project, funded by the ERASMUS+ grant program of the European Union, is in its final phase and will be presented on November 13th in Berlin - warm invitation!

Please confirm your participation by November 5, 2024: https://linktr.ee/projectinfofhm

November in Berlin vorgestellt - herzliche Einladung!

Bitte bestätigen Sie Ihre Teilnahme bis zum 5. November 2024: https://linktr.ee/projectinfofhm

Guidance and Mentoring Programme: Guide online

The STEAM4LIFE partnership is happy to announce that the Guide from the project's Guidance and Mentoring Programme is now available online in all partner languages: English, German, Greek, and Slovenian!

Have a look inside!

The under-representation of women in STEAM has emerged as a significant focal point of concern in the European Union during the past decade. Despite the implementation of numerous initiatives aimed at addressing this matter, the problem persists, largely because of its complex and multifaceted nature, encompassing various stages of women's life cycles. A compelling body of evidence highlighting the limited engagement of women in STEAM disciplines can be discerned from university enrolment and graduation statistics, as well as from data pertaining to women's careers in STEM fields.

Our project logo

We have our official project logo!

Integrating the project's technical aspect through a stylised mechanical arm and 5 different logo icons, the STEAM4LIFE logo represents the 5 areas of STEAM:

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics

Through its stylisation, the project logo also pays respect to the special focus and importance that the STEAM approach puts on arts in the technical field.

First partner meeting

Project start: the first partner meeting

The STEAM4LIFE project partership held its first face-to-face partner meeting on February 22 and 23, 2023 in Cyprus, hosted by the University of Cyprus in Nicosia.
